I propose a practice centred on the repetition of gestures as a means of generating movements, states and images.
Repetition is a performative element that frequently features in my choreographic work. It serves to activate an inner sense of music and connect with the various rhythmic dimensions of movement. In this workshop, repetition will act as a tool for transformation. What new worlds of imagination might we discover through ceaseless repetition?
The workshop will be organised into three phases: training, improvisation and composition exercises.
Biography
AINA ALEGRE
As a choreographer and dancer, Aina Alegre has been creating shows and performances in a wide variety of formats since 2010.
She regards choreographic creation as a way of opening up imaginary worlds centred on the body.
Through dance, she explores different relationships with the collective body, and her choreographic work is conceived as an ‘orchestration’ of movement, sound, light and space.
For several years now, her work has been both choreographic and musical. Through her creations, Aina Alegre also explores the notions of memory and archiving that run through her entire body of work.
