ENCUENTROS LATENTES

Short meetings on the research of movement, improvisation, and composition.

Hello, I hope you're all well.

I'm delighted to announce a new phase of the labs: ENCUENTROS LATENTES.

For some time now, I've been researching the concept of "latent," thinking about it from the idea that something is hidden, waiting, not yet perceptible, but has the capacity to emerge and become visible/audible/perceptible at any moment. This idea is suggestive and inspiring to me when I work within the framework of improvisation or instant composition. It allows me to connect with the body/movement in a more present state, and from there, play, imagine, divert, transform, or develop a material, texture, or imaginary.

Each session will have a different research focus and format. On this occasion, we will focus on composition and the relationship between movement and sound space. We will also have guests and include a ‘friendly audience’ in the second part of the meeting.

The proposal is divided into two parts:

5:15 p.m. arrival

5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. research and practice workshop.

8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. BREAK and preparation of the space.

8:20 p.m. doors open to the ‘friendly’ audience.

8:30 to 9:15 p.m. group practice around instant composition.

9:15 to 9:30 p.m. presentation of the GUEST group (Valeria Polorena, Vassilis Maltampes, Sebastian Morell and Aggelos Karakuolias)

Biography

CECILIA COLACRAI

I am a dancer, independent creator, and contemporary dance teacher.

I currently lead various artistic projects such as R.A.V.E. (Revolutionary Agglomeration for Voluntary Extermination), RUGE, and research projects such as LATENTE en el AMBIENTE, among others. I co-direct the Big Bouncers Collective with Mireia de Querol and Anna Rubirola (www.bigbouncers.info), and collaborate with various artists such as Joao Lima, Carlota Subirós, and the Mal Pelo company.

I am interested in exploring performance languages, improvisation, instant composition, and research into transmission methodologies.

I have been teaching since 1997 in Argentina, Barcelona, and other cities in Europe and Latin America.

I am part of the teaching team at the Institut del Teatre (CSD and CPD) and the Moveo physical theater school.
