I find myself immersed in a return to the bodies with which I have worked throughout my research and creative processes. In this archival project focusing on my own body, I see this course as an opportunity to share the physical practices and experiences that have emerged from some of the diverse aesthetic and conceptual research processes involved in the choreographic works I have undertaken and developed.

The body that I am and in which I live today lacks the physical abilities and resources I had when I carried out the research I am now revisiting, but this distance affords me a certain depth when reflecting on what I had already done and what remained to be developed—aspects that were not fully appreciated during the initial exploration.

Space has been the raw material of my work: the space of the body and the body in space are my field of interest, the infinite possibilities of relationship and transformation of this material which, at the same time, often takes shape in very specific textures and constellations.

Each transmission is a process of mutual learning that allows the proposed tools and practices to continue to grow collectively; each experience and each group modifies them, and the interpretation, appropriation and integration of a practice are usually unique to each body.

Biography

    ÀNGELS MARGARIT

Is an artist dedicated to dance in its various forms as a dancer, choreographer, educator and curator. In 1985, the show MUDANCES gave its name to the structure through which she would develop her projects over the course of 34 years, including medium- and large-scale productions, solo works, site-specific pieces, dance videos, installations, and projects and research across various fields and formats.

From the outset, Ángels Margarit/MUDANCES enjoyed a highly prominent international profile, and her creations were co-produced and presented in over 25 countries at the most prestigious festivals and programmes worldwide, establishing her as one of the leading figures in dance in Spain since the mid-1980s.

Throughout her career she has collaborated with numerous artists and, alongside her creative work, has spearheaded various projects focused on the creation, teaching, transmission and dissemination of dance.

She has received numerous prestigious awards and honours, both nationally and internationally.

As an educator, she has helped to train new generations in our country and across Europe, whilst introducing dance into educational settings. She has developed and/or collaborated on various educational programmes for different institutions in Catalonia and Spain.

As a curator, amongst other roles, she launched and directed TENSDANSA, and from 2017 to 2025 she directed the Mercat de les Flors, temporarily suspending her activities due to an administrative conflict of interest with that position. Since October 2025, she has quietly returned to the field and to creation by reviving various works, such as Solo per habitació d'Hotel OBELISCO #505 for the Cali Dance Biennial, and Souvenir Tossols for Sismògraf 2026. She has begun research work on her archive.
